Up for sale, a 2015 Tokai Love Rock model LS178S in excellent condition and in perfect working order. An incredible tonal platform with all stock appointments, this Love Rock captures all the aesthetics and tonal options one looks for in a mid-50s Goldtop. The stock P-90s are extremely versatile and allow a player to dial in a myriad of tones ranging from Sean Costello’s haunting leads, to grinding power chords in the vein of Social Distortion. The bridge pickup has impressive bite and growl, and the neck pickup has a distinct hollow chime. Demonstrative of what quality tonewoods are capable of, there are few things finer than the rich warmth of mahogany paired with a carved maple top that adds cut and attack. The guitar weighs in at 8lbs 12oz and is a surprisingly light example that hangs well on a strap.

The mahogany neck features a comfortable, rounded C shaped profile that's welcoming to players who prefer to avoid an overly chunky "baseball bat" shape. The profile measures .831" deep at the 1st fret and graduates to a supple .992" at the 12th with a traditional 1 11/16” nut width. The frets are flawless, retaining their full factory height and well-rounded crowns. The rosewood fretboard features a tight, closed grain-pattern, with cream binding and easy playability all the way up the 24 3/4" scale. The headstock has a thin holly veneer with the “Love Rock” script in a familiar typeface, as well as a nicely patina’d set of Kluson-style tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold tune accurately.

The P-90 pickups are wired to the factory harness, which features braided pickup leads, USA-made CTS 500K long-shaft audio-taper potentiometers, and Sprague “Orange Drop” capacitors. The carved maple top has a '50s spec dish carve, while the gloss gold finish is as classy as a wet bar in the 1950s. Cosmetically, the guitar is extremely clean with sparingly little play wear and only light patina on the nickel hardware.
